How SimpleGroup reaches a classroom

Tell us about your school
Which LMS you run, roughly how many teachers, and who owns Canvas administration. One email is enough to start.

Your district creates a developer key
SimpleGroup reaches Canvas through a key only a Canvas administrator can create. It scopes exactly what the app may read and write, and it is the reason setup goes through the district rather than around it.

Step 3
Teachers install and connect
Once the key exists, a teacher connects their own Canvas account, picks a course, and is grouping the same period.

Nothing routes through us
We don’t sit in the middle of this. After setup, the app talks to your Canvas directly and we have no visibility into any of it.
Why no public download?
Without a district developer key, the app can’t connect to Canvas — and since a class is a Canvas course, it can’t do anything at all. A download link would hand you software that doesn’t work yet. When provisioning is self-serve, the button goes here.
